Optiven Celebrates The Elevation Of Kitengela To Municipality
Investors within the Optiven projects in Kitengela have received the elevation of Kitengela to a municipality with great aplomb. The move to transform the town that has a population of 230,000 people is a milestone for a town believed to be the fastest-growing town in East Africa.
George Wachiuri, Chief Executive at Optiven Group joined Kajiado Governor Joseph ole Lenku on the development. Lenku also outlined some of the benefits that will come hand in hand with the municipality status of the town including to transform the lives of Kitengela residents.
The move is especially welcome at Optiven which has at least 5 projects in the area mainly in real estate, hospitality and construction. According to Wachiuri, “Kitengela is where you reside as the bedroom of Nairobi long after you return from work. It is here that you will find homes, construction materials, entertainment centers and even institutions not to mention banks and hospitals.”
Wachiuri lauded the government for their intent to upgrade feeder roads leading to the new SGR station noting that this will ease movement to the station and encourage use of the train as an alternative means of transport.
