Reporting to: Associate Director – HR & Talent Development.
Location: Nairobi.

Job Summary:

The role of this position will be to manage and Support the Overall HR functions keeping a keen eye on Performance Management to develop efficient practices and strategies that maximize employee performance and support their development in line with both the Company’s HR Policy and Strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify overarching company performance and development goals.
  2. Create and oversee the implementation of the procedures that support and enhance employee performance as per the company’s objectives.
  3. Manage Performance and carry out quarterly and monthly performance appraisals.
  4. Establish a two-way communication channel to receive employee feedback and modify development policies and standards accordingly
  5. Gather and assess business intelligence and the necessary data to assess employee performance and identify individual and departmental workplace issues and development barriers.
  6. Draft research-based performance efficiency reports, present them to senior leadership, and suggest performance management changes as necessary.
  7. Coordinate and engage in insightful staff training practices and development plans to reach the established performance target goals.
  8. Determine and resolve workplace issues that prevent optimal performance, such as individual grievances or poor departmental structures.
  9. Provide guidance to employees and management in regard to HR policies and practices and relevant employment
  10. Explain to employees the methodology of current or upcoming performance practices thoroughly and professionally and follow up with them to ensure organization-wide understanding
  11. Recommend effective reward management schemes and incentives for staff.
  12. Perform other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A Degree in Human Resource Management from a recognized & reputable institution of higher
  • A certified Human Resource Professional – CHRP will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience working in Human Resources with three preferably in a supervisory level managing employee performance.
  • Registered Member of IHRM.
  • Computer proficiency, e.g., keyboard experience, email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HRIS Systems.
  • Knowledge of local employment
  • Experience in interviewing, orientation, training and/or supervision of employees.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to handle multiple demands, work under time pressures and meet deadlines.
  • Conflict resolution and crisis management
